How to correctly select an electric ball valve

Reports indicate that over 20,000 kilometers of oil pipelines are planned for construction in China over the next 10 years, including transnational pipelines from Russia and Kazakhstan. Furthermore, following the "West-to-East Gas Transmission" project, China will also construct over 20,000 kilometers of transnational gas pipelines and branch lines.
These projects will require more than 20,000 large-diameter ball valves, medium and small-diameter ball valves, and gate valves; the construction of 10-20 large refineries, and the construction or expansion of a batch of 800,000-1,000,000-ton large ethylene plants. More than ten large PTA plants have been or are awaiting approval, with an annual output of 500,000 to 600,000 tons, which will provide a huge market for the valve industry; the construction of large fertilizer and synthetic ammonia plants will also provide opportunities for the valve manufacturing industry. In addition, direct coal liquefaction is likely to form a new industry. Because the direct coal liquefaction process operates at high temperatures and pressures with high solid particle content, the demands on valves are high, which will create a new market.
According to valve industry technicians, when developing these new electric ball valves, attention should be paid to the promotion and application of new technologies. For example, the development of large-diameter integral ball valves for long-distance pipelines should adopt integral welding technology; to improve the corrosion resistance and erosion resistance of the valve sealing surface, a few manufacturers have begun to use supersonic flame spraying of tungsten carbide technology, and attention should also be paid to the development of using nanomaterials to modify sealing surfaces and laser cladding technology.
In addition, the cobalt-chromium-tungsten plasma wire automatic welding technology used for many years in the valve industry should continue to be promoted to replace manual welding and ensure the quality of the valve sealing surface; to achieve automated control of the engineering equipment process flow, intelligent electric and hydraulic drive valves have been developed; accelerating the development of new transmission methods such as magnetic drive, developing a new series of closed magnetic drive electric ball valves, eliminating leakage points between the valve stem and packing, making them suitable for flammable, explosive, toxic, corrosive media and pipelines that require locking to prevent misoperation.
It is understood that the localization rate of China's large ethylene plants has reached 80%, and the high-temperature and high-pressure valves used for ethylene have also been localized under Sinopec. The results are good, and the product quality and performance are superior to imported products. The Sinopec localization office is full of confidence in promoting the localization of valves and believes that domestic backbone enterprises have the ability to undertake the research and development tasks of this project. After discussion, the participants unanimously agreed that 1500-pound electric ball valves can be localized, and 2500-pound electric ball valves can also be partially localized.
